sezra
Hi. Apologies for not posting anything for a while but all has been well in my little chicken community! However....the last two evenings I have gone out to lock my ladies in for the night to find two of them roosting on the roof of my Go, the other two were inside. The first night it was 11pm so not too early. My first thought was that the door had shut which it wasn't, then I peeped inside to make sure there was nothing scary in there! My only ideas are 1) the evenings are hotter and they like to chill on the roof 2) the four have fallen out and are refusing to roost together 3) There is something in there that they don't like??? I pulled the Go out today tipped it upside down, had a good look and gave it a good sprinkle with Diatom powder but didnt see any red mite. Any ideas please?? It might be nothing but I feel a bit concerned. Thank you.
jill the potter
I'm no expert but I would think that it is to do with the weather. If there was anything in the eglu then they all would have refused to go inside. As long as they are safe I wouldn't worry - they like to make up their own minds...lets face it they don't have a lot of say in how they live do they!!?!?! sezra
Thank you. I am just hoping it is a weather thing but I was so surprised to see them sat on the roof. Hopefully they are just showing some independence!
