Hi all,

 

My three year old hen seems to be losing feathers on her neck, we have used the purple spray and separated her from the others however it is still getting worse. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why? No sign of mite or lice.

That looks like feather pulling/bullying to me possibly

 

That sort of damage can also be done by a cockerel or dominent hen mounting and holding on to the feathers too

Hi Tasha,

 

Well, we have Three other chickens and no cockerel. One of the other three has although, some feathers missing around her neck.She is broody and sitting on some eggs and separated from others, so, feathers are growing back

 

The one in the photo is the boss , I can't see any one bulling her during the day. what ever happens , happens at night. It leaves us with the other Two chickens. What can I do if its bullying?
