wee_deec
I am thinking of keeping bees, but have no idea where to start... does anyone know what I need to do? I think a course would be useful. Any in or around the Glasgow area?
Olly
Contact your local beekeeping association, you can find them via the British Beekeeping Association website. Courses usually run in the winter months, but they will probably have local meetings that you can go to in the summer to find out a bit more. Old Speckled Hen
You could start here http://www.scottishbeekeepers.org.uk/learning/html/learningindex.html The SBKA is a very proactive association and has an excellent forum you can at least lurk on. Olly's advice is spot on. Join a BKA and get a course under your belt as well as the apiary visits a local association should offer its members. Kermit
Find a beek you can go round to see at work. Handle bees and see if its for you. Better to find out before you spend any money... Very important N of the border
