phenna_family
Hi Everyone, Does anyone know of any Bantam breeders in cheshire, we are thinking of extending our little chuck family and thought about getting a couple of bantams, also can anyone suggest a nice breed that is good with kids? Many many thanks for all your help Claire
Baggins
My choice would be a Pekin (also called Cochin) bantam. Our Matilda is the friendliest and most tame chicken there is. She comes into the house, sitting on my lap in the evenings, and will hop up onto the garden bench to sit next to me. The Pekins are also very small and cute, with bottom very close to the ground and feathered feet, which make them amusing and "cool" (so say all the neighbours children!). Foxy Loxy
Try http://www.gardenpoultry.cwc.net/ near Frodsham in Cheshire. I got mine from there. I know that they did have a few bantams. If you phone them up they will tell you what they have got.

Claire I don't know why omlet doesn't recommend them as a breeder. I live in an area without hens and it took me about 3 weeks to find a breeder. I thought the hens they had were fantastic and they looked well looked after.

Foxy Loxy
Hi Foxy Loxy, Yes she had some lovely chickens, and yes they are well looked after, what chickens did you buy from her. claire I bought a black rock, an amber rocket and a red rocket. The red rocket (Martini) is my favourite. She is so sweet. When I walked past the red rocket pen, they all followed our footsteps in a big group. The guy (can't remember his name said that they are the tamest of all the birds that he had. Charlie, the other guy said that the amber rocket and the black rocket are docile and tame birds too. They are too. I let them free range around the garden for the first time yesterday. They just walked around and around the eglu yesterday. They weren't very adventurous.
