Chicken boarders

hi guys,

im after some advise, i currently have 5 warren ex battery hens, they have a great temperment and are very friendly, 4 out of the 5 of them are laying, i also have 2 pekin bantam chicks that are 3 weeks old that i currently keep in my indoor brood, but i would like to know , what are the best breeds i can buy to go along side what ive already got outside, i rather like the silkies but have been told they may get bullied by my warrens and that would be the last thing i want to happen, help and info as always please ???

Hybrids are probably the best option to go for

We've got our 3 ex batts with one pure breed in one part of our WIR, 2 pure breeds and 1 hybrid in another part, then 3 pure breeds and 1 hybrid in the other end of the WIR. I think often it's more to do with the personalities than the breeds. I do have one ex batt who is a bit of a bully whilst the other 2 are fine. The one bully plucked out pretty much all the neck and some head feathers of our Araucana and Favorelle but we've never had any actual fights between any of them.
