Hattie_Bob
Hey everyone, I let my chickens roam around the garden yesterday and discovered that my chickens are scared if anyone comes in the garden and fly really high. Now i know that you can clip their wings but you cant go near them without them flying round the garden im worried if i try to handle them they will fly and injure themselves becaus last time one flew into a window . Any ideas please??????????? Hattie and the Chickens xxxx
alet_chicken
Hi, welcome to the forum! I would suggest waiting until just before bedtime, when they are sleepy and maybe not so flighty. Or if yours are as silly as mine, definitely wait until they have been asleep for an hour or so, then they should be much easier to handle. Good luck! fluffy chick
I assume the chickens are quite new to you. I trained all mine to come to me (by holding corn in my hand for them) before I let them out the runs. You'll need them to come to you incase you need to put them away quickly. They will become tame very quickly as chickens are ruled by their stomachs!
