mcmannnus
A month ago we took on a one year old speckeldy hybrid hen who had lost her two previous companions, to go with our recently bereaved 4 1/2 yr old white star. Although our white star still lays most days, the speckledy has not laid an egg since she arrived. She seems to have settled in well (eating, scratching, dust bathing etc with our white star) and is not being bullied. Any ideas why or what we can do? Thanks. Sandychick
She sounds happy in her new home Do you know if she was laying before you got her? It could just be a combination of change of environment, change of feed type & less daylight hours all contributing to a delay in egg laying. Also, do you know if she has been wormed with flubenvet recently - worms can stop egg laying without any other obvious symptoms. Hope she lays an egg for you soon
mcmannnus
Thank you for your reply. Still no eggs! We will worm her to see if that makes a difference. Thanks again.
