Sheilaz
Until recently my last guinea pig was living happily in the Guinlu by the kitchen door. Although she has lots of human care and attention, I know it's not ideal to have a single guinea, but after 20 years I won't be keeping them again after this one. A fortnight ago, with an expected garden full of visitors, I was thinking the guinlu was really in the way. Inside Chickenopolis! I'd wondered before but couldn't find a solution. This time, I moved the 2 mark one Eglus off the platform, just keeping one in hen garden for laying, the hens always sleep in the Cube but an extra nestbox is useful. I was so lucky, the Guinlu and run fit exactly, just! The guinea spends a lot of time exploring the run rather than hiding, when I wake up she is often just calmly have a look and listen around, she obviously prefers the view and feels safe. It is all protected by roof and it is a sheltered part of the garden. The only downside will be trips down the path in the winter, she needs more regular attention than the hens, but it'll be worth it to see her having this new lease of life. Amazingly, there is a lot of interaction with the hens, who visit on the ramp and are intrigued, with no danger to her, she clearly isn't scared, it's lovely!
