yannovitch
Hello everyone, after much thinking about it, i have decided to get rid of the balckberry bushes on my allotment: they take too much space, and give me too many scratches, when i can just get blackberry picking on a nice countryside walk! but i wouldn't like to use any product of any sort... i like the organic approach... has anyone ever done this before? is there a good way to go about it? or is it just strenuous digging everything out? Thank you very much for any advice!
sjp
hard graft is the only way I'm afraid with wild brambles treat it the same as couch grass every time a new bit grows dig it out took me 2 or 3 years to get rid of one out of my garden

yannovitch
thank you thank you! all done now: chopped up all brambles, rooted out everything i possibly could! and i even made my bon fire on top, so i killed any roots that was left in the soil! freddie
Good on you, but... they will re appear I'm afraid, as if by magic. Just keep grubbing out the shoots, and eventually they'll give up. It took us a long while to finally clear them, and I was really sure , every year I'd finished them off!
