Happy Mrs Chicken
Hi,i'm thinking of getting a garden composter,to put chicken bedding and kitchen waste etc in.When the compost is ready would the compost be ok to use in the chickens dustbath? Dandelion
I probably wouldn't because it would be so much more useful on the garden from the point of view of the nutrients. But I also wonder if it would be too damp and claggy for a dustbath, and would question whether there would be a problem with worm eggs. Snowy
I think it would be too damp as well. I do use spent compost in the dustbath, I dig out the greenhouse beds as it is nice and dry and dusty for them. They love it!
