binka
I'm looking at ordering a WIR, for about £100 extra I can have one with a Coraline roof fitted. So I thought I'd get some corrugated sheets from wickes and fit them myself to save money. But I wouldn't save £100 as I'd need to buy enough sheets to cover a 9th x 6ft run. Then I was reading that they split when you drill them, etc. Am I best off just paying the extra for the factory fitted roof?
Duncan08
Hi Binka, I added an acrylic sheet to the side of my run, and managed to split 3 out of 6 holes. 1 whilst drilling 2 whilst overzelously screwing. I was rushing though, and should have taken more care. You are aware that they need to be treated carefully, and providing you take your time, I would do it yourself. CR666
We have a run that is part fitted with corduline or similiar and part with standard corrugated plastic, personally I found the corduline easier to work with because the plastic can be a little fragile and does need to be treated carefully, however I found it possible if you take your time. One thing to note that is obvious when you think about it but remember that the corduline is not see through and can make the WIR a little dark, personally I have fitted corduline to the large area of our WIR and see through plastic to the front area, this seems to provide a reasonable level of light in the run without it feeling overly dark. I also ditched the nails that came with the corduline and found using screws fitted with screwcaps easier to fix
binka
Thanks, I've found clear corduline in b&q today so think I'll go with that.
