Chookster Posted April 29, 2012 Share Posted April 29, 2012 Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me when hens stop laying edible eggs. I have 3 x 4 year olds and 2 x 2 year olds. One of the 4 year olds lays eggs which always has rough spot on the tip of the shell and the white inside is like a jelly mess and the yolk is separate. I have not been using these as not sure if i should - though they smell ok. Could this be age or is she not getting enough calcium ( she is the smallest and was once at the top but is now bottom of the pecking order ). I don't mind too much about losing the eggs but i worry that this particular hen is not getting what she needs. sorry for the waffle.
