jimnpaula
Our original ex batts are slowly reducing in number leaving us room for more hens. After contacting the BHWT they now have us down for 4 ex free rangers who will be coming home on Sunday. Just wondering what experiences anyone has had with ex commercial free range birds? I don't know much about the system, but assume they have had a nestbox and a house to roost in and should pick up the new arrangements quickly? The spare house and run are set up already and I plan to keep them in for a few days to imprint where 'home' is, and that nice things come in green dishes. Now to decide on names. Goosey Lucy
I did I took on 12 lovely ladies, unfortunately one suffered a nasty proplapse within a week of being with us but the rest had a lovely life. They quickly got themselves sorted in the cubes and were great at putting themselves to bed every night. I did keep them in the runs for a full week before I let them free range though, just to make sure they knew where home and food was
