Sexing Partridge Wyandotte chick/s

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm hatching my first ever clutch nder a my broody partridge Wyandotte bantam at the moment. To my great excitement one egg has hatched so far! I'm very pleased and would be very happy with just one chick. My question is I've seen on some websites that eyeliner markings in partridge WD's often mean its a girl?! Would you all agree? I know time will tell eventually but I really am hoping for a girl :-)

Many thanks!

A couple of weeks have passed now and my chick looks very similar still to the image above. Plenty of barring and no redder pluamge appearing on the chest area. Do you think this is more likely to mean shes a girl? Her comb does seem to be forming though, its not pinky, just more prominant. I have no experence of rose combs which is what I think the Partridge WD's have so I am still none the wiser.
