My best layer Margaret was laying an egg everyday. I've had her for approx 8 weeks now and she was laying beautiful blue eggs until 12 days ago when Hilda died.

 

3 days after there was a completely shell less egg in the run, which I assumed at the time was my new girl getting to grips with laying, but now I'm thinking may have been Margaret. Then we had a small 36g egg (she normally lays 45-53g eggs), but we've had nothing from her since.

 

Now ths is going to sound totally daft but is it possible that she is missing her mate? She seems ok in herself, but then they are all a bit miserable in this weather.
