Poorly Breadmaker

Recommended Posts

My lovely Panasonic breadmaker has been making delicious loaves for nearly 12 years. I set it to make a loaf overnight and came downstairs to find...... not a lovely fresh white loaf with poppy seeds, but a congealed mess of damp flour with burnt bits round the edges!! :?

It seemed that the paddle had somehow jammed and refused to mix the dough. By some miracle, after a wash and dry, the paddle seemed to be operational again and lovely loaf was made. BUT...... after another wash and dry, the paddle is jammed again! :?

Has anyone else had a problem like this with their breadmaker? A new pan seems to cost about £55 to replace and a similar new breadmaker around £150. Dilemma!
