Scotty
My female rabbit keeps emptying the hutch of her bedding. It doesn't seem to matter what I put in there.. as soon as i disappear from sight she's in there emptying it all over the run. Its begining to worry me as the weather is becoming cold. She's not alone, she has a male rabbit (smaller) and they have loads to play with. should I worry or is this normal?
Princess Leia
I wouldn't worry too much. Our dwarf Lop doesn't go in for bedding at all. He has a two tier hutch - normally he sleeps on the lower floor straight on the slabs, although he has a small plastic dog bed to sit in and jump over. In colder weather he sleeps in the upstairs part - the open mesh side has been fitted with a perspex window to keep out the draughts. He only uses the enclosed upper part as a toilet room!
