Embilly
Hi All, One of my hens has been having 'bits' in her eggs on and off for a few months now. We thought they may be blood spots, but they seem to be quite hard, and today there was a big lump (see photo here - ' target='_blank' rel='noopener'> or http://www.flickr.com/photos/76842754@N00/8273261778/in/photostream - but was cream coloured earlier). She is healthy, wormed and laying regularly - does anyone have any idea what these bits may be, and if there is anything we can/should do. Thanks in advance
Ain't Nobody Here
Sounds like a meat spot. I wondered if you were describing a lash but they're normally laid separately from an egg.
Embilly
Thank you, I wondered if that was it, but wasn't sure. Am I right in thinking these are just something that happens (she is a brown egg layer), or is it a sign that anything may be wrong?
Ain't Nobody Here
As far as I know, they aren't anything to worry about (but I'm not exactly an expert!)
