Hoggiehall
A couple of months ago one of our older ginger's (abou 8 months old), started losing the bulk of her feathers but not to skin. I thought that this was moulting so we've been adding supplements to the water. This seemed to help and her feathers are fuller but not back to normal yet. This week, the bird finds a corner of the WIR and just snuggles down, with her back to the other 3 birds who act quite normally. She does the same when let out for a walk in a netted area outside the run. She finds a corner and snuggles down with her back to the others. There's no obvious pecking going on and the rest of the birds are all well. Its very different behaviour and I just wondered if anyone had any advice. Thanks! mollyripkim
Moulting can take a lot out of them, but I just wonder is she broody, does she flatten herself down when you pick her up. Other than that have they been wormed regularly. I would also check her crop at night to check if she has been eating. Can't think of anything else but hopefully someone will be along.
