Omlet cube and run

I think I may have an egg eater For the second time in a week I have found an empty egg shell in the run. There seems to be a little bit of yolk in the nest box too. I also remember recently finding a broken up egg in the nest box not long ago as well, but I didn't think much of it at the time. I have four girls and at the moment they tend to lay while I am at work, so I can't remove any eggs until after 5 pm (often not until 10 pm if I am out straight from work). I think I will get a rubber or porcelain egg to leave in the nest box in the hope that it might discourage whoever it is.

 

My only other worry is whether a rat could be getting in and taking the eggs from the nest box and eating them in the run. Unlikely today though as I have blocked up all the rat entrance holes (recent rat visitor but that's another story ) and there was no evidence of any break in today.
