henny penny Posted May 8, 2013 Share Posted May 8, 2013 We had three hybrid chickens in an Eglu and extended run previously . We are thinking of getting bantams and wondered about four . I would be interested to know what other people think and their experiences? If I get three I think one is always left out - so was thinking of four ? What do you think ? Chicken deficient Posted May 8, 2013 Share Posted May 8, 2013 If you are thinking of Pekins...then I think 4 would be fine. I had 3 hens and a cockerel in mine and it was fine. You'd have a bit more nest box competition if it was 4 hens, which may be a bit of an issue if one was broody, but there are ways around that.
