loopyloulabell
Picked up my 1st new hens today, 20 weeks all looked healthy and wonderful, beaks, eyes, bottoms the works. 1 is bright and breezy doing 'chicken-y' things the other has spent the day tired, curled up and not really interested in anything. Am I just being over protective and she is just all washed out over her journey to her new home or might I have picked up a sick one? (Yeh these are my 1st chickens......) xxx
good_egg
Moving can be stressful for them - mine freaked out when I moved them into a walk in run. See how she is tomorrow. If you have tonic try that, I was told marmite was good for stress (vitamin b7?). Check for a tucked tail and any signs of poorly but otherwise just give her time - done take things better than others.. Congrats on your new girls and welcome to the forum. loopyloulabell
Hey there!! Thanks for the advice, she did perk up a little this morning and has been pecking around. Got my 1st egg off of one of them which was a great bonus! She has quitened down this afternoon again and is back to sleeping so we shall see, like you said must be a massive shock for them xx
