kissinuk Posted September 8, 2013 Share Posted September 8, 2013 I've used straw for a long time now as a base in the run, I was surprised to hear another chicken keeper say recently that they buy small packs from normal pet shops. If you use straw look for a local horse supplier and you will save a fortune. This bale cost me £2.82 today from Welland Valley Feeds (a horse/pet food supplier)... I know not everyone likes straw but if you are looking for an economical option that you can clean out weekly without costing the earth, bales are a great option, especially for less than 3 quid!
