Does anyone know if Paula is away on holiday? I have POL hens ordered from her which were supposed to be ready at the end of July but I've not heard from her. I have tried to contact her but got not response.

 

I am away in early September so would like to get the new hens settled before we go. With Toast going broody it might make it easier to introduce new ladies whilst she is pre-occupied and only Chips will be asserting her authority.

Paula is usually really rpompt at getting back to you, when you email. If she hasn't replied, then I would assume that she is on holiday - I've used Paula since I got my first chickens from her, and have never found her to be anything less than totally reliable. Have you tried phoning her? I have her number somewhere - I'll find it later, and PM you with it.

 

If you are really desperate for chooks just now, East Links Farm at dunbar are seliing off their excess flock of Lohman Browns at the moment - we got one when we went for a day trip last month - lovely chickens, all hand tame (all those visitors hand feeding them all day!) and all laying. Lohman Browns are pretty brown chickens and are reliabel layers - they're used in a lot of battery farms, I believe, as they are so reliable.

I've had my chooks on order from Paula for a while so I'll hang on for a bit - she has always got back to me okay in the past so I assumed she was on holiday with it being Trades Weeks.

 

If I don't hear from Paula by the end of the week I'll make a choice then.
