They have fancy feeds layers pellets, free ranging on grass when I can let them. Mixed corn in the afternoon. Grit a oyster shell on tap. Penny one of my babies (nearly 2) has been laying really small eggs. Both she and her mum always laid slightly smaller eggs, but these have been really small Is it just getting going again blips????? Beantree
Typical of hens coming into lay Mimi5. There is nothing wrong with the diet that I can see. Sunlight has a bearing on soft shelled eggs as well. Give them time to settle. Unfortunately older hens are prone to soft shelled eggs at the end of their laying life. Some hens always lay little eggs. We had a 10lb orpington that laid eggs the same size as the bantams.
