beccauk
Hi looking for any advice and going to try explain without photos as takes me forever to upload. Im knitting baby snowball into a blanket the pattern gives for knit 1 row and purl the other but you get up with a neat side and a rough side where you can see all the knitting, after looking online I saw a pattern using RIco pompon which is used alot for scafts the bobble is bigger then the baby snowball which means the lengh of yarn between the bobbles is shorter, they knit both sides and have 2 stitches between using 4mm needles, Which then gives a neat side on both which I wanted for this blanket. I have tried with doing 2 stitches between them but have had to size down to a 2mm needle due to the shorter yarn, only thing is its going to take alot longer. wondered if anyone has used this and if just 1stitch between the bobbles would work the same? Im not sure if its doing the2 stitches thats keeping it neat.
Olly
Sorry, never used this so I can't offer much advice. Do Sirdar have a website that might help?
beccauk
Yea they have a site and I had one of the pattern books which was garter stitch knit/purl, I have one knitted nearly finished with the good and bad sides then used 1 ball to try the knit/knit idea as didnt want to take it all down again if didnt work. I had already taken down the blanket once to try it .lol maybe I should use the last balk to try a third style? Iol To what ive read people who have tried the sirdar , preferred the rico pompon. Wish id known ive brought a ball of rico while away on holiday in york to make a scarf. But don't want to start another project before ive finished the blanket, I always used to have half projects unfinished now trying to restrain myself lol. becca
