dyfiview
We bought 3 new 'commercial' hens from a breeder at 17 weeks. Their combs and wattles grew and we waited for the excitement of the first little eggs from the newcomers. All 3 eventually started laying and one wondrous day we had 4 eggs (we also have a light Sussex). Since then only one of the new hens has laid and they are still very small eggs. We've had hens for 4 years and not had this bother before. It's frustrating when our B&B guests ask if their breakfast eggs are from our hens and we have to explain why we have had to buy eggs. We've wormed them, restricted treats and made sure they have plenty of water. Any ideas as to why we have no eggs from 2 of them and only small eggs from the 3rd?
