gavclojak
I am awaiting the arrival of a few ex-colony girls (due 12/10) my worry is my old girls are going through a moult at the moment, it has resulted in a little bit of feather pecking, I think the new quills coming through are a curiosity and taste pretty darn good! Will having new ones in a fenced off area of the enclosure exacerbate the feather pecking? should I wait until the mould is over? I know the new girls will stress the old girls but I want to minimise it as much as possible, they are old ex-commercial ladies and I don't want their nose pushed out of joint too much
redsunset
Remember your ex batts have now resorted to normal chook behaviour long since. They have a normal life and only know that so any newbies will be treated as suspects!, and they are the ones to be Molly coddled a bit due to the confusion I'd say. Good luck and bless you for taking on a few more
gavclojak
Ah thanks redsunset, they will be spoilt girls for sure. Am very excited!! I do the rehomings with BHWT from the colony units so will be very difficult to choose who is coming home with me out of the few thousand we will be taking, I am hoping they choose me!
