Stargazer99
Hi I am a newbie and took delivery of my four girls two weeks ago. They have all settled in nicely and are now all laying so lots of egg dancing ! Yesterday in the WIR I found a yolk in a sack. No white or shell. All the eggs that day had perfect shells, so someone had laid an egg plus this yolk in the run. They have access to grit and shell so I am a little worried as to what has happened? Only two eggs today but both perfect.
mimi5
Hi and welcome to the world of chicken keeping Oh and of course the pleasure of collecting your own fresh eggs daily I don't have hybrids myself but lots of others on her post about theirs and often they post about these kinds of "blips" when girls are just getting going with their laying. It should settle down, just keep an eye on things, which you already are A good quality layers pellet and as you say grit and oyster shell. You could also add something like lifeguard to their water, it's full of good things to help with health and egg laying. Enjoy your girls You will always find helpful advice and support on this forum, when you need it
