Sarasauru89
Hi, We have had 7 CLB chicks hatch out of a clutch of 7 eggs which is fantastic! However at first glance it only looks like we have 2 girls This would be so unlucky! Some of the boys have very clearly defined stripes but they also have head spots. Their colour seems to be a lot greyer than the girls and not a rich tan/brown colour. Is it possible for girls to still have a head spot? I understand this could be more likely if they are hybrids and not 100% pure CLBs, which these apparently are. One definite girl at the bottom - not sure about the one at the top? it has a head stop but very defined stripes and eye stripes. Lighter one on the right is definitely a boy. Almost all of the group together...the two brownish ones at the bottom of the bowl are the only ones we are certain about being girls. Redwing
They arent particularly clear are they?! Yes you definitely have one pullet but I would also suspect that the one on the right in the second pic is possibly female, what makes you think its male? does it possibly have a head spot that I cant see in that pic? If anything I'd say those were your two females I'd say the one at the top is male
Sarasauru89
We think the two next to each other at the bottom of the bowl are female, no head spots, browner colouring and defined stripes. The two on the left of the bowl we think are boys - paler colouring fuzzy stripes and a large head spot. It's the two grey looking ones we're confused about at the top and bottom of the pic - they are darker than the others, seem to have quite clearly defined stripes but have head spots. Any thoughts?
