Poorly chook

Recommended Posts

My black rock hybrid as been very quiet the last few days. She comes out into the garden in the morning and then goes back into the coup and sits on the nest. She is drinking a lot of water and eating a small amount of pellets. I'd noticed one of my chooks has a runny bum, and this morning I confirmed it was my black rock.

What do I do with her? Is there any treatment I can give or is it a visit to the vet?

Thanks in advance.

John

We'd need more information, John - how old is she? Is her comb red, is she still laying? Could she be broody?

Is her crop full or empty? Does she look hunched, or lethargic?

It's really difficult to diagnose over the Internet, if in doubt a vet visit is safest as hens can go downhill very rapidly.
