Now realised it had some avocado left in it, which I know isn't good for them. I'd estimate about a quarter of an avocado between the three of them. Are they going to be okay? Olly Posted August 19, 2016 Share Posted August 19, 2016 They'll be fine - I reckon we've all done this at some time with leftover salad! I have never heard of anyone's hens being poisoned by eating avocado but it's received wisdom that it is poisonous for birds. I think it might be a risk with smaller birds but I think the size of a hen against a relatively small amount of avocado suggests that there will be no after-effects.
