xChicken04x
Hiya everyone, iam not sure if thisis supposed to be in the chicken clinic sorry if it is. We have had our girls for about 3 weeks now and they where all laying. Lacey was a bit off colour about a week ago and we found out she had worms. We gave her some flubenvet (still are) and she seems to be back to normal. We have had no eggs from her though which i assume is because she had worms. Her face keeps changing colour though. one minute its a really pale pick (practically white) and the next its bright red. Spice is doing the same thing aswell. She hasnt had worms but hasnt layed for about a week and a half. I noticed the other day when i went to check the eggport that there where some ginger feathers (Spice's) in the nesting box does this mean she could have tried to lay? They are not broody and are eating and drinking fine. Iam just a bit worried about them becoming egg bound. Does anyone know what this meanes? thanks for any help xx
Snowy
It's quite normal for their faces to change colour - they become more red as they come into lay. Also, it can fluctuate throughout the day - almost as if they are blushing! The erratic laying might also be because they are new to it - it can take a few weeks for them to really get into their stride. As long as they are behaving normally, don't worry. Not sure about the feathers, it could be a partial moult.
