Chickybaby
I noticed earlier today that one of my guinea-pigs eyes is swelling up and going white, which I think could be glaucoma. He is old, in fact he must be about 5 now, so it hasn't come as too much of a shock. What i'd like to know is whether it's painful or not for him. As it's the christmas period a visit to the vet is going to cost a fortune but i don't want him to suffer. He's eating fine so that's good, as soon as he goes off his food then I suppose that will give me some indication how he's feeling. I just wondered if anyone on here has had any experience of glaucoma in guinea-pigs and could give me some advice?
redfrock
is it worth checking if he has got a hay seed in there first? Roman's eye went milky overnight once and he had a hay seed in there - bit like an eyelash. Quick easy to remove (apparently) although the rescue centre did it for me. I know the Pete Gurney site tells you how to do it
