red mite

Recommended Posts

i think red mite is more prevelant in the warmer months but we dust our chooks about once a month to be on the safe side and also sprinkle some powder in their coop/nest boxes when it gets cleaned out (also about once a month). Also keep an eye out for red spots on roosting bars and any reluctance by your chickens to go into their coop at night.

We only got our girls in october so haven't experienced red mite so far, fingers x'd.
