TAJ
Any advice - had chooks 3 weeks, had an egg for the first time Thursday and another yesterday - then today I decide to give them a good clean out lunchtime and find egg yolk (just a little & no evidence of shell or white) in the pooh tray. Do you think this is just them starting to lay, or have I got an egg eater before they have really started! Advice greatly recieved. bellekatz
They often lay soft shelled or shell less eggs when they are just getting started - hopefully it will settle down. Maybe whoever layed it was "caught short" and couldnt get to the nest box in time. I'd just keep a check to see if there are any more signs of eating before you get too worried. TAJ
This afternoon I have another egg, so hopefully the yolk was an early failed attempy! Tracy
