chickenlickin
Hi Does anyone have bantams living in a cube with large fowl? What kind of Bantams are they please? I have three large fowl hybrids and would like to get some (2or 3) bantams. Will they need a separate house? Can they all live together in one big run? Many thanks everyone. hpops
I have 2 pekin bantams, 1 Silkie, 1 large Maran, 1 small hamburg and two gingernut rangers in my cube and they all get along fine. I would recommend a slow introduction though as the bantams did seem a target when they first went in - we let our chooks out to free range most of the day though - so they got used to each other whilst still being able to make a sharp exit if need be!! Tweety
I have 1 Speckled Sussex bantam , 1 Buff Rock bantam and 4 Sebrights living in a Cube with my big girls and they are fine. As hpops says, a long slow introduction is the best way to go, so I would recommend that you keep them separated whilst they get used to each other. Boris70
Yep - I've got 2 pekins, 3 ex-bats and 3 hybrids all living together in a cube. They all have the option of blue eglu too, but all the girls go in together every evening so they must like each other!
chickenlickin
Thanks so much everyone for that, that has put my mind at ease, but as you say, introductions must be taken slowly.
