joybelle
I am planning to get a couple of white stars but am a bit worried that they are a noisy breed having read several posts saying they are. My gingernuts and pepperpots are very quiet only making a little fuss when I go into the garden, my neighbours didnt even know I had chickens untill I told them.So my question is do they make lots of noise or is it just the odd one that does. Thanks Joy

CatsCube
I think generally they are as they are a strain of leghorn and they are know for being noisy. Its not a disturbing noice or irritation like a 'bock bock' noise which is more noticable, its more of a 'caw caw' throaty noise. I think mine is exceptionally noisy though, and even though my neighbours have said they can hear her they are not bothered by it.

KimW
Yep, Boo my White Star is. But it is only when she see's me coming up the garden. The rest of the time, she's not too bad. We love her because she is so nosey and has to investigate everything, she is such a character, and always the first with everything, the others follow. She is quite happy to be picked up aswell, she is the one that all my children pick up first, a really lovely chook.
