WitchHazel
Hello again So, I've been trying different things as treats. Firstly, they had some "mixed corn", which didn't seem to have much corn in it. Then, we tried sultanas and raisins. Day four we had cooked rice. I picked up some unpopped popping corn at my local corner shop today, and wondered if some of that might be OK as a treat? It looks the same as the corn in the "mixed corn". What do you think?
Egluntyne
I found the following on the Poultrysite: Don't feed pop corn... popped or unpopped unless you want birds with impacted crops. They can't digest it and it has absolutely no nutritional value what so ever for them. **Here** is the whole article.
WitchHazel
Gosh, thanks for that Egluntine I can't understnd why popping corn is a problem, when sweetcorn is OK. Still, it's better to be safe than sorry so I won't risk it. I;m so glad I asked first. Thanks again Hazel
Egluntyne
I wonder if it is to do with the popping corn being so hard and dry. Maybe the grit in their crop isn't enough to grind it down. Can't think of anything else.
