Asw28b
I am trying to locate a lid locking bar for our Eglu Classic / Mk1 The original rusted through, and has now been lost. Omlet do not have any left, and production of them has now ceased. Does anyone know where I can obtain one, or failing that, would anyone be able to take some measurements of one, so that I can hopefully get something fabricated ? Has anyone else had the same problem, and found a solution. Many thanks. Paul
Beantree
You could try asking them for a copy of the original component drawing, then make one from that.

Neil Wheadon
Come on Omlet. This is the number 1 failure of the classic. It's metal and locks the lid. It fails as the point where it narrws. It's critical. We have 3 egloos and have already replaced this once and they last maybe 7 years, before then bend and break, so you decide to discontinue it!! Why? As loads of orriginals age, more people will be looking for these from you.
Franchi
So they still haven’t helped anyone with this problem? Locking bars still not available. Maybe they never expected the classics to last this long.? I improvised by buying some flat aluminium bar (won’t rust) about the right width and getting my husband to cut it to length, bend one end and drill a hole in the other. Its a bit flimsier than the original but does the job.
