Chooks Aloud
It's so frustrating when the birds lay early (one is already in the nest) so the others lay on the bars. These then get trampled on when they get let out in the morning. How can I get over this? Or do I just accept that this is going to happen sometimes. I tend to just s"Ooops, word censored!"e the yolk off the floor and scramble it for them, so as not to waste what is left. Karen
Eyren
Do you have an eglu or some other kind of chicken house? Is there some way you could provide an extra nestbox?
ubereglu
How about shutting their run up, but leaving the door to their house open? That way you won't have this problem. Mind you I wouldn't reccomend this with nasty weather though.

Chooks Aloud
I did wonder about leaving the eglu door open but how does this stop the egg getting trodden on though? Do they just go and lay outside?
