leopardstar
A week ago one of my plymouth rock bantums laid an egg then two days later laid another one, but we've had nothing for the past 6 days, is this normal when they start laying? The bantums are about 29 weeks old, I was expecting them to have laid by now.
Eyren
My wyandotte didn't start laying until she was 8 or 9 months - pure breeds tend to take a bit longer to get going, on average. Also, their reproductive gear can take a while to get in sync, so I wouldn't worry about a few gaps at the beginning. Enjoy your little eggs! Egluntyne
Are they free ranging? If so....have you checked under shrubs etc. She might have decided to lay somewhere else. One of Snowy's hens appeared to have gone on strike a while back and then she found a secret cache of about 20 eggs in the garden!
