Hi. I've recently bought an eglu cube and built a 140sqft fully covered run for it to sit in. I had planned on a flock of 8 hybrids of leghorns and legbars but now my 5yo has picked another breed (Burford) that he desperately wants. The poultry farmer I am buying from and some online advice says 10 would be totally fine given the huge covered run. I've even heard people say 12 hybrids cuddle up in a cube at night no problem. What do others think based on Cube experience? Can 10 hybrids comfortably sleep in here at night? I also have autodoor so the hens will have free access to the run in daylight hours. Pictures attached for reference.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

That's a lovely run, but overcrowding leads to all sorts of problems and is best avoided. Whilst squeezing 12 in may seem feasible, in Summer the heat will be unbearable, even with the door open and you may have fatalities? Fighting for position will also cause injury. My advice would be to aim for 8 maximum, 6 preferably.
