New hens not going into Eglu Go Up

Has anyone has their auto door occasionally close during the day while it is supposed to be open?   It has been doing this for about a month and I get tired of having my chickens locked out of the coop.  I have the auto door specifically to make sure that they are safely locked in at night.  
 

Not sure if it is related or not, but the app shows the door as device offline and doesn’t show any openings or closings of the door since May 11, but I can open/close the door from my phone.  Firmware is up to date as is my app. 

I would love to contact Omlet directly, but it seems that all of the support they offer is the Troubleshooter with no option to ask a question that has not been answered.

I don't have one of these units as I don't trust them. Is this on a timer or a light sensor? If it is a light sensor it may be shadow cast onto the unit or a fly landing on it?
