HRC99
Phenie is turning into a regular layer. 9 eggs in her first ten days since laying. Well done, girl! The largest is only 46g though and that was after her day off. Basically, all the others have been bang on 42g. Will they get bigger naturally or do I need to look at her diet? They're on layers pellets but have had a fair bit of cabbage recently. They love it and we've been a bit generous with the treats so I was worried that they've had a bit much of the treats and not enough layers pellets. Or am I just worrying too much and the eggs will get bigger?
Egluntyne
They will get bigger, but try to give treats only in the late afternoon, as they will crowd out the layers pellets which contain the optimum nutrition balance for laying.

I've been trying to cut down the treats and give it to them later. So I'll be a bit tougher with them. It's so hard. As soon as they hear the back door go, they run/fly round and are clucking away as soon as the door opens! They do seem to fill up a bit on the contents of the garden. Boy, do they love honeysuckle! They just can't get enough of it! I'll sit tight and just be thankful that Phenie's so regular!
