Muppet81
The more awful stories I read about fox attacks the more concerned I become. My heart goes out to those of you affected. I love the look of some of your lovely enclosed runs but suspect my neighbours may not be too happy about a large structure in the garden. I have 7 girls in a nice wooden hen house with an attached wire run. This is within a fenced off section of the garden. I have a Foxwatch but whilst it goes some way towards peace of mind, I still don't let the girls out of their attached run unless I am round and about. I am looking into the possibility of electric fencing and have looked at the prices of kits. The house is close enough to have a mains supply to the fencing as opposed to using a battery. Does anyone have experience of these and how effective they are. Also, I would hate to hurt or scare my girls. I have a cat but she does not go anywhere near the chickens. I would want to do an awful lot of research before going down this route but feel it may be a way to get peace of mind and give the girls much more freedom. Also, it shouldsy to move them round to different parts of the garden. This is a problem for me at the moment. All thoughts would be gratefully received.
