Troy
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a goldline, meadowsweet ranger, gingernut ranger a warren - and I know theres a couple more I've forgotten... Are they more or less the same hybrid with different names depending on where you get them? Shes meant to be the really friendly hen, great for us beginners and likes human attention etc. But every time I've mentioned her to our local poultry keepers, they've given me a different name! A confused and very green Troy!

A confused and very green Troy! You've hit the nail on the head there Troy! They are a rhode island red x light sussex hybrid, with different names depending on the breeder. They do make a very good pet hen - they are bred to be docile so they cope well with the battery cages and lay loads of eggs But wonderful in the garden!
