peanut12
Took the family to Boydells Farm in Wethersfield, nr Braintree yesterday. It's a working airy farm producing sheeps milk. They have over 300 ewes and other animals and it's a really hands on experience. The girls got to feed the lambs, milk a cow and meet all the other animals including pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, ponies, donkeys and llamas. Great VFM and a good 3 hours of fun for the kids with a guided tour that is very educational, containing child and adult humour. If you're not far away I would definitely rcomment it. Olly
That sounds good! A possible venue for a future Essex/Suffolk meet ... don't forget the Barleylands trip on 10th May! PS I'm glad to hear the farm was well-ventilated!
Guest
That sounds good, I like taking James to these places. I went to Marsh Farm for a birthday party and I was NOT impressed. The pigs were all indoors, different pens for different sized piglets - with the age written up and the feeding sows were in those horrid things where they can't turn over and squash the babies. I'm sorry but this is NOT the type of farming I want to take my kids to see - much nicer at Jimmy's where you lean over a gate and see pig and piglets in a little bit of the barn! I'll hop over to the get togethers section later and sort something out for Barleylands.
