Can you use a rabbit version for chickens????? they look so similar - can you not fit wooden slats or is there some major differences???

 

I say this, as the rabbit ones go a little cheaper on Ebay.

The bases are quote different, although you can buy a converter kit from Omlet.

 

There is nowhere for the Roosting bars to fit in a Rabbit Eglu and there is no nesting box.

 

You would be much better off going for the chicken Eglu.

Oh OK, just a thought really.......suppose by the time I had bought a conversion kit - it would have costed the same!!!

The conversion kit is £70 from rabbit - to -chicken on the Omlet shop - for that you get the chicken base, glug & grub and, roosting bars.

 

On the shop to convert to chickens is under rabbit extras, and to convert to rabbits is under the chicken extras section

Adding to my earlier reply when I was looking at ebay - even with a conversion kit, many of the radlu's would have worked out cheaper, even if you paid £70 for the new conversion kit - the only thing that stopped me going down this route (i.e. ebay rablu & chicken conversion kit was that rabbits seem to damage them more than chickens - I saw one on ebay recently that had holes chewed in it by a rabbit and a number where the rabbit has chewed the green coating off the run mesh, so it has started to rust. I guess with anything on ebay you need to look closely at the photos and note what they say about condition.
