One of our new chickens seems to be shivering all the time, she has lost a lot of feathers, so is she just cold or is there a problem?

Is she eating and drinking normally?

We've had her since friday, but seems to be eating, not sure she's drinking from the Super glug yet, but we've had lots of rain and she has been drinking that.

 

She was in with a cockrell who plucked her back, legs and underneath, so she is a bit short of a duvet right now, but seems ok and has been laying. The breeder said she was about 30 weeks. Her eggs are quite large so i think she's been laying a little while.

Maybe she is a bit chilly through lack if feathers and unsettled by the move.

 

Keep an eye on her and if you think she is no better, maybe some advice from a vet might be a good idea.

 

Is your run covered so that she is out of the draught?

Bits of it are covered to give them shelter, but in this rain there is no escape, they are all drenched... come on sunshine it's nearly may!!!

If she is laying she is probably OK....just cold.

 

Laying, eating and drinking are good pointers to a hens overall "wellness".
